Today Ryanair, the low cost Irish airline, has officially confirmed its first Cyprus route starting from November. It will be connecting Larnaca and Brussels.
At the press conference held by Ryanair today, Marketing executive of the Irish airline Laura McCormack has confirmed the news and said that this winter there will be another route by Ryanair, information on it will be released soon. She added that these routes will provide Cypriot consumers and visitors with cheap flights for the first time. She also stated that the 2 new routes will transfer over 60,000 passengers to Larnaca, creating up to 60 new employment opportunities.
Talking about the first route ticket price, a trip from Larnaca to Brussels will cost only 34.99 Euro, including taxes.
“To celebrate the new route, Ryanair is launching 500,000 seats of 5 EUR, for travel across Europe in September, which are available for booking until midnight Monday, August 23. Since seats at these crazy low prices will be snapped up quickly, we urge passengers to book them immediately on www.ryanair.com,” she noted.
According to Christos Malikkides, who was representing Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism, beginning of Ryanair flights will be an important step ahead, which will increase interest of the tourists from abroad to the island and will be beneficial to the winter tourism in Cyprus.
